A better Quezon City

Quezon City was a big ball of smoke back on the eve of the New Year. Almost every other corner of the city was filled with firecrackers. In our street alone, two businesses had a “showdown” of who had the most Judas belt in their arsenal. I think it’s about an hour of deafening blast after blast from them.

I am really praying that QC will be a better city after Sonny Belmonte. Mike Defensor and Herbert Bautista are the ones with the ambition to replace Belmonte. I do hope whoever replaces him will really focus on the betterment of the city. I do think Libis can be QC’s Ayala Avenue. Cubao can be a better business district, too, if given the right focus by the people concerned.

Happy New Year to all! Let’s all pray for a better Quezon City this 2010!

Actually, I found out about it through the announcement. It is really a great way to apprise everyone of monumental events in a person’s life.

The Dreamcatcher is a citizen of the Philippines, living in Quezon City, Metro Manila for 30 years now, and counting. She loves the city she grew up in but is not blind to the many flaws of it as well. She has this dream of QC becoming a clean city, just like Makati. Without the nightclubs lining Quezon Avenue, or the mayor that runs the city right now. Hopefully, the coming 2010 elections will remedy all that. And then some.
